Tiger Woods has again proved that he is the best when he made the US dollars 8 million Accenture Match Play Championship look like a one-man show. Woods had the largest margin of win in the championship match of the event with 14 birdies in 29 holes. The champion got his 15th victory in 26 starts in the World Golf Championships series. This was his seventh win in his previous eight official tournaments. He got his 63rd victory on the United States PGA Tour, going ahead of Arnold Palmer to fourth on the unprecedented list behind Sam Snead (82), Jack Nicklaus (73) and Ben Hogan (64). Tiger said that he was playing the best golf in his entire career.

The modest champion was quoted saying that there is always a scope for improvement. He said that though he was winning all the tournaments, his short game was not too good. In the previous eight official tournaments – out of which seven were on the PGA Tour and one on the European Tour – he had won seven of them and managed to secure a second place in one.

He got his six stroke play by a total of 29 strokes, which is on an average almost five shots per tournament, but was almost removed on two instances at Dove Mountain. Such is the strange nature of the game.
