Omero Wins In New Orleans
Andres Romero shot a final round 68 and finished on 13-under-par to win the Zurich Classic. The second and third place was taken by Peter Lonard and Tim Wilkinson respectively. Romero, like other golfers, had to come back to the course in order to finish his third round which was cancelled due to heavy rain. He managed to finish his final round almost three hours before the final group of Briny Baird and Lonard. He had a nervous waiting session before he could claim his first PGA Tour title.
Andres Romero was very happy at his victory and said that play more on the PGA Tour. He confessed that he was a bit nervous. He managed to make a three-foot birdie to get to 13 under and then later made two pars to finish with a 68. as a result, the onus was on others to keep pace with him.
Competitor woody Austin was at 13 under but a bogey on the 14th dropped him a stroke behind. As a result, he could not make birdies on the following holes. His second shot was 258 yards from the pin in the left rough. The subsequent shot pushed the ball into the water. On the other hand, Lonard was more consistent. But he made a mistake on the final hole that cost him his win.
