Odyssey Black Series Tour #9 Putter
Already a favorite on tour and also a Golf Digest 2010 Gold Medal Award Winner, the new Odyssey Black Series Tour Putters are the real deal! The Black Series Tour #9 Putter is designed after the model made popular by the tour’s favorite lefty, Phil Mickelson. Odyssey saw a need to bring this putter to the masses and after months of input from Phil and other various touring professionals, Odyssey engineered one of the finest putters in the game. The Tour #9 is a heel-shafted, toe-weighted, mid-mallet putter with a flange blade, a long hosel, and half-shaft offset. The putter is precision milled from 1025 carbon steel and features a urethane dampening insert place between the head and the tungsten flange to improve both the sound and feel of the putter. Even though there is no insert in the face, Odyssey found a way to still incorporate their patented insert in a creative way that delivers the performance that we have come to expect from their insert model putters. Besides improving the sound and feel, perhaps more importantly, the tungsten weight also lowered the center of gravity in the putter head which helps promote a more forward, truer roll so your putts get started on the line quicker. We received a few of these putters in at the shop and within a few putts around the store, I knew Callaway had a real winner on their hands. The look at address makes those 4 footers not so intimidating, thanks in large part to the deep black PVD finish which provides a dark, stealthy look that is durable and also reduces glare.
