Noren And Schwartzel Join The League Of Leaders
Lee Westwood of British origin and Anton Haig of South Africa shared the lead in the Qatar Masters after the end of the first round at the Doha Golf Club. They returned scores of five-under 67 and that too in windy conditions. They were just two shots ahead of their opponent in the European Tour event. There was a tie for the second place among seven players. Westwood sustained his current hot streak with five birdies. In a bogey-free round, he birdied the 15th, 18th, first, seventh and ninth. He seemed happy and confident. He was also satisfied with his form. On the other hand, Haig was not in form recently but his new South African coach, Jamie Gough, has helped him improve a lot.
Alexander Noren of Sweden and Charl Schwartzel of South Africa made a perfect start to their second rounds at the Qatar Masters. This takes them to the league of overnight leaders Lee Westwood and Anton Haig at five under par. Schwartzel picked up an early stroke at the par-four second before back-to-back birdies from the sixth moved him onto three under par at the turn. Noren made a brilliant start with a birdie at the par-five first before he decide to move onto two under after 10 holes. Alexander Noren had spent ample time in America practicing his moves with close friend Martin Kaymer, who had won the maiden title in Abu Dhabi held last week. The results are shining bright.
