Nick Dougherty Gets Ready For Augusta Debut
Nick Dougherty has seeked the expert opinion of three-time champion Nick Faldo for his Masters debut at Augusta National. He does not want to leave any opportunities unexplored. He wants to gather all pearls of wisdom that he can manage before the game. It has been almost eleven years that Dougherty won the first of three consecutive titles in the Faldo Junior Series. Nick Dougherty was a member of Faldo’s winning Seve Trophy team in Ireland last September.
Dougherty has also admitted that he is seeing famous American sports psychologist Bob Rotella with the intention of peaking his performance in the game. He is really serious about his game. He wants to give his best to the tournament. No matter how much he wants to win every tournament he plays, he knows that it is too high an expectation. Fuzzy Zoeller had been the winner on his debut. Luke Donald was third when he debuted in 2005 and Paul Casey finished sixth the previous year.
His family and group of loyal friends will be there cheering him. He has already played three US Opens and three US PGAs. He hopes that this the first of many Masters that he intends to play.
