Golf Equipment junkies unite! Our favorite Golf Digest issue of the year, the Equipment Issue has finally arrived and in these hallowed pages lies the 2010 Golf Digest Hot List.  Honestly, I was not very impressed with the 2009 product launches from most of the major manufacturers but they have all made up for it in 2010.  Callaway’s new offerings are perhaps the most exciting so far for me.  Their new Diablo Edge game improvement iron is sure to turns some heads and improve some scores and they even won the Golf Digest Gold medal in the game-improvement category.  Other Gold Medal Iron winners would be the new Adams Idea A7 OS and A7 OS Max iron sets and the Mizuno MX-1000.  This year’s equipment battle doesn’t end there.  For the better player, the new Titleist AP2 irons flat outperform and the new Mizuno MP-58 irons are simply stunning.  These irons were also given the Gold Medal Award.  In  the wedge department, Cleveland’s new CG15 wedges are the clear winner.  They outsmarted the new USGA groove rule by laser milling the spaces in between the grooves on the surface of the face rather then making the grooves deeper.  This years driver battle is as heated as ever and so far, the new Cleveland Launcher DST gets my vote.  Cleveland has not released a performing line of woods since the days of the Launcher Comp line and the DST takes off where that line left off.  The Launcher DST is classically shaped and is one of the lightest drivers on the market.  For those seeking the ultimate in feel and customization, the new Cobra Zl Driver is for you.  It is the first composite driver to be fully adjustable while still having somewhat of a traditional look at address that inspires confidence.  Both these drivers are Gold Medal Winners and also ring in at under $350.  The above mentioned products barely scratch the surface of the Golf Digest Hot List, so stay tuned…
