Drug Policy Alarms Players
In morning as well as the afternoon sessions of the Buick Invitational, almost 100 players gathered into a white tent for a compulsory meeting on the PGA Tour’s latest anti-doping policy. PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem was at the head of all this, he was accompanied by two staff attorneys along with three outside advisors. One of them was a well-known expert on the World Anti-Doping Agency list.
The distressing news is that players would be solely responsible for what they take in. they might consume a product depending on the labels thinking that it is harmless and does not contain any cross contamination. Far more irritating was the fact that there can be random checks on the layers any time at any place. Frank Lickliter said that he could not comprehend why the tour took up WADA guidelines for golf, where even Vick’s Vapor Inhaler is forbidden.
Tiger Woods said that he knows what exactly goes into his body. He is pro drug testing and feels that the game is heading towards proper direction by implementing the testing. Many players thought that the game is losing its honor heritage. Finchem had been against drug testing for ages. But to prove that the game was really clean, the testing is inevitable.
