Cobra L5V Driver
Cobra adds interchangeability to the new L5V driver!!
The Cobra L5V will start hitting shelves soon so its time to give a little info on the first interchangeable driver for Cobra. The most innovative feature of the driver is that it allows for the ability to make the driver face open or closed. The shaft is interchangeable but options of shafts will not be as available as the Callaway I-MIX. The driver really sets up nicely from address. The head is still large and similarly shaped to the predecessor L4V. I wasn’t able to hit the driver this day so I can’t give a description on how it felt at impact or the sound that it made. The Cobra L5V will have a retail of $399.95 which I was a little surprised at. I thought it would be higher compared to similar drivers on the market. The price might be a great niche for Cobra because golfers are really concerned with the open/closed face of drivers and Cobra hasn’t always paid attention to the better golfer. The win a couple of weeks ago with Camilo Villegas will bring the attention to the Cobra line-up as well. This driver will start hitting our door the week of October 1st.

I’ve been hearing nothing but great things about this driver. I’m currently using the L4V and with the new features that the L5V features, it might be time for a upgrade.

I have tries this club in stores, it is incredibly light. And with the adjustible weights, it should be a nice product for Cobra. How do these clubs keep getting lighter??

Love this stick! Very light and easy to swing through the zone, and the adjustable weight feature is a nice thing to have.

I started using the L5V 11.5 degree last Spring. Previously, I used the LD MSpeed offset, but was beginning to pull everthiny with it, so i changed to the L5V.
Now, with the shaft @ 1 degree closed, I can work the ball depending on the course layout. And my drives have been dead freakin’ down the middle! Last Week on my second round, I hit 14 fairways out of 14 fairways…..and they were all within 5 yards of the middle. Distance ranged from 203 to 242, depending on the wind.
Terrific Driver!
