Cleveland HB3 Iron Set
The wait is finally over, the new Cleveland HB3 Iron Set is finally here! This highly anticipated iron launch has answered the question, “Where is the 2010 replacement to the Hibore Irons?” Well, the HB3 is it!!! The new HB3 irons are designed with the average to high-handicap golfer in mind and like the ever popular Hibore Irons of the past, this third generation hibore iron offers extreme forgiveness, distance, and playability. Similar to the rest of the Cleveland’s 2010 lineup, the HB3s are designed to be very lightweight and the HB3 is the lightest iron set Cleveland has created. Their cast construction and Cleveland’s new Action Ultra Lite graphite shaft reduces the overall weight of the iron and the new low-profile, aerodynamic head shape helps reduce the amount of drag on the downswing promoting faster club head speed which means more distance for you. Besides being light, the new Action Ultra Lite graphite shafts also have strategically placed low-kickpoints for higher launch angles. Pair that with Cleveland’s new and advanced internal weighting system and sole design and you have an iron that promotes high, soaring shots that fly straight and land soft. For players that prefer steel, don’t worry! Cleveland’s new steel shafts are only slightly heavier and still have low kickpoints for a higher launch. The Cleveland HB3 irons are offered in the 3-iron through the Pitching wedge and are available in both right and left hand. I was fortunate to catch a glimpse of these irons in person when our Cleveland rep stopped by and like the rest of the new Cleveland lineup, they are impressive. The dark finish and sleek head design hides their size and inspires confidence as soon as you address the ball. Unfortunately, there was still snow on the ground so I didn’t have a chance to hit them, but if they perform half as good as they look, then Cleveland will have a real winner on their hands!
