Jose Maria Olazabal insists that he has not been offered to become Ryder Cup captain for Celtic Manor in Wales in two years’ tenure. He admitted that Thomas Bjorn, who is the chairman of Europe’s players’ committee, did speak to hi a couple of weeks ago, but the job was not offered to him. (more…)

Many golf players get restricted with their so-called comfort zones, which prevents them from scoring their optimum. The comfort zone creates a problem when players play better than they expect themselves to play. However, this happens only to ‘general’ players and not those who are professionals. (more…)

Nick Dougherty will play the Italian Open in Milan. He was devastated by his mother’s death only a few days ago. Brendan Taylor, the manager of Nick Dougherty’s said in a press release that his mom wanted him to go out of the way to make it to the Ryder Cup team. (more…)

Peter Lawrie was overwhelmed with joy and relief as he achieved his first European Tour victory. He was left totally speechless with joy. The closest he had come to a win before was losing a play-off for the same event to Kenneth Ferrie of England around five years ago. (more…)

Gregory Bourdy of France denied David Howell what would have been a great victory for by winning the Estoril Open de Portugal at the third hole of a play-off at Oitavos Dunes. Scot Alastair Forsyth, seeked a second win in three weeks. He had tied on the 18 under par mark of 266 after two closing birdies. However he fell out of the race after driving into a bush on the second hole. (more…)

Spain’s Pablo Martin’s win in the Portuguese Open at Oitavos Dunes last year won him the title of being the first amateur ever to be victorious in an event on the circuit. Now he aims to imitate Aaron Baddeley at the Australian Open in 1999 and 2000 by following a win as an amateur with a triumphant defence as a professional. Martin has always been very focused. Johnson Wagner has managed to retain the lead after the third round at the Shell Houston Open where Chad Campbell Bob Estes were challengers. Wagner carded a three-under-par 69 to move to 15 under par. Wagner entered the third round with a three-stroke lead. (more…)
