Callaway X-22 Iron Review
Get Dialed In! With the new X-22 Iron set from Callaway Golf.
This iron set was designed with the average player in mind. The MOI (moment of inertia) is 10% higher then its predecessor the X-20 iron, meaning that you get a higher rate of forgiveness on off-center hits. With the new X-22, Callaway has also incorporated modified Tru-Bore design, dampening vibration and enhancing the feel dramatically. The X-22 iron set also employs new precision notch weighting. Meaning that the weights of the club are moved to the perimeter of the iron to create a hotter club face, while maintaining the lower center of gravity for ideal trajectories and feel. The greatest thing about these new X-22 irons is that the clubs are made for average golfers with higher handicaps. The MOI will have you hitting the ball straighter, and with more confidence. With a straighter ball flight and more confidence you will soon find yourself hitting more fairways and lowering your scores.

Bought Callaway X22 irons with unishaft based on feedback from trade magazines. Shortly afterwards, I took the clubs to Florida on a golf trip. I am an above average golfer so I thought it would help my game. What a terrible waste of money! These are the worst clubs I have ever owned. I lost distance. The ball flight is too high. I could not control the ball at all. I paid $600 and I wish I could get my money back. I think the issue is the shaft. It is not good for a faster swing. Very Very disappointed.

I have to disagree with the last review. I was hesitant about dropping so much money on clubs, but I did. My first round with them was a disaster. But what would you expect when you change clubs so drastically. In the three rounds I have played since, I have shaved 5-12 shots off my score each time. They are an extremely forgiving club. Event mishits got straight as an arrow.
