2009 Golf Digest Hot List Super Game Improvement Iron Review
The next edition of the coveted Golf Digest Hot List for 2009 takes a look at the category that most of us golfers fall in, Super Game Improvement. The Super Game Improvement category has the usual contenders in it. The Adams A4 OS Tech Irons were gold medal winners. The Adams A4 OS Tech Irons have the combo hybrid set that allows for maximum forgiveness. The Callaway Big Bertha 2008 and the Callaway FT-IBrid Irons are holdovers from last year and are clubs that really hit them straight. My personal favorite of this category is the Cleveland Hibore XLI Hybrid irons. I think that the iron is priced right and has the best combination of forgiveness and distance out there. Cleveland did a great job by not making the irons too large and they really look great from address. The Nike Slingshot HL set is another gold medal winner. This set comines 3 full sized hybrids with 5 traditional irons and it is priced great at $599.95!! The Ping Rapture V2 Irons are priced high but offer some of the most technologically advanced materials out there. It is really worth the extra money. The TaylorMade Burner Plus is similiar to the Callaway Big Bertha 08 and a nice offering from TaylorMade. The Wilson Staff DI9 irons are a new offering from Wilson and comes great forgiveness with lower lofts to get extra distance. If you are looking in this category you really can’t go wrong with any of these selections.

One common factor is the predominant wide wide soles. Makes the clubs so easy to hit and with less miss hits. Really changing the game.
