The 2009 Golf Digest Hot List just hit and I wanted to take moment to talk about the Drivers that won that are under $350.  My favorite is the 2009 Cleveland Launcher Driver that won the gold award.  The 2009 Cleveland Launcher Driver brings a great combination of power and control to the tee box.  I haven’t had a chance to hit the Cobra S9-1 Driver yet but the reviews are really strong and Cobra usually puts out some great clubs for the higher handicapper.  The Nike SQ Dymo and SQ Dymo Squared are great drivers that have the ability to alter the club to suit your needs on a given day at the course.  Nike has really gained ground in the retail stores as customers have been really excited about their products.  I think the Ping G10 driver is the only holdover from last year.  It is the traditional shape and great feel that have customers adding it to the bag.  The 2009 TaylorMade Burner Driver has started off slow but this should pick up the sales a bit with its Gold Medal.  My other favorite that I can’t believe only got a Silver Medal on the Golf Digest Hot List 2009 is the Wilson Smooth.  The Wilson Smooth is unbelievable.  It doesn’t even feel like you have to swing it hard to make the longest drive.  Everyone should go and give Wilson Staff Smooth Drive a chance.  Padraig seemed to like it this summer!!!
